Pre Development: Photoshoot Planning

 

1. What is the topic of my 300 word article?

The topic of my 300 word article will be about football players and facts.

2.  How can I illustrate that text in images? In other words, what images would be suitable as  illustrations for that text? What should those images depict?

I will show images of the players playing football. I will also make sure the capture the emotions of these players during a game.

3. Who is going to be the model?

My model is going to be a 16 year old black male.

4.  What mise en scene am I going to use for the photo shoot? Where am I going to take these  photos (LOCATION)? What costumes am I going to use? In other words, how is the model  going to be dressed for the photo shoot?

I plan to take these photos at a football field. The model will have their football gear on, including the jerseys, helmet, cleats,etc.

5. What camera shots should I use for the front cover? What camera shots should I use for  the double page spread and the table of contents?

I will use a medium wide shot for the cover. For the double page spread and content page I will use wide shots to capture the players in action.

6. How should I frame the image for the front cover, so I have enough space in the photo to add  my text elements (masthead, coverlines and other elements such as the dateline, barcode,  and any other additional elements (skylines, straplines, flashes and puffs, etc.)

My magazine will cover sports. I chose football as the sub genre because I love the game and I am familiar with this topic. My magazine will cover the top plays and football facts on a weekly basis. My magazine will focus on I will be representing young black males in this magazine. 

Audience research

 

Research analysis:

The results from my survey have helped me to decide what to include and what people want to see in a football magazine. It has also helped me to figure out who my target audience is, which is young black males between the ages of 17 and 25. Since my target is young, I want to include new and upcoming players that would be known in my magazine. My target audience, based on the results, prefers to have lots of photographs and a substantial amount of information to go along with them. In terms of content, the majority of replies indicated that readers want the magazine to feature the best game moments.

Adjusting Facial Expression

 

Summary:

    Liquify will distort images without losing pixels or decrease in quality. This assignment will help me to touch up the subject face if necessary. I can use this feature if someone's face does not match the feel of the page.
